Official says Russia helps Libya to restart oil output

CAIRO, Dec 30 (PRIME) -- Russia aided signing of an agreement to restart production and exports of oil from the ports of Libya after many months of suspension, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord of Libya Ahmed Maiteeq told PRIME in an interview released on Wednesday.

"Russia supported and helped with this agreement (during the negotiations). Positive participation of Russia in any agreement on Libya is an indeed important element for success of this agreement," Maiteeq said.

The official said that the country produces more than 1.2 million barrels of oil per day and there is hope that the economy will recover.
